The 2015 came to a fitting end after nearly 5 months of football and 1,000 games at The British School on Saturday. Spread out over 3 sessions and in front of 2,500 players and parents the League’s 10th Anniversary season concluded in bright sunshine in what was an outdoor event for the first time in 6 years.

League Chairman for those 10 years, Brian Dallamore, closed the event in front of the U16/U18 and Open Age Girls winners and runners-up by announcing the handing-over of his position and that of the current league committee to a new team headed by Kirk Evans who will take the JSFA forwards into 2016 and beyond. He acknowledged the incredible contribution throughout this long running league success of Marc Sprakel, Irene Thesman and Yenny Sutanto who had done so much for the league and who will also be standing down this year.

Gala Day traditions were upheld with the Greenfields Cup Finals played throughout the day interspaced with the Coca-Cola League and Greenfields Cup trophy and medal ceremonies. It was another big performance from the leagues bigger schools particularly in the A/B divisions where both British School Jakarta and Dragons FC from JIS figured strongly. SMP/SMA Muhamadiyah won both the U16 and U18 Cup competitions. National High and Mentari International School figured strongly in the lower divisional competitions. The Sportsmanship Awards went to Sekolah Global Jaya in U8, Global Mandiri in U10, ACG in the All Girls, Global Sevilla Puri in U12, Ibnu Sina in U14 and Tunas Muda in U16/18.

See a full list of Greenfields Cup winners and League results in the respective sections of the JFA web-site The standout winners in the All Girls league and cup competitions went to the British School Open Age Girls who went all season unbeaten and took both the cup and league titles with Deutsche School being runners-up in both occasions. It was a record year for the All Girls teams who fielded 26 teams split into 4 divisions in U10’s/U13’s and 2 in Open Age.

It was also a record year for the league as a whole with 232 teams fielded from 58 schools plus 5 charity teams appearing in the playing season making-up 29 playing divisions. In total, well over 4,000 children appeared during the season split into 13 venues operated by the league spread around the city.

The outgoing Committee wish to thank everyone for their tremendous support over the last 10 years. It has been a hell of a ride starting with 5 schools and 8 teams in the 2005 pilot season to where we are today. We wish everyone the best of luck for the future and in particular to the new committee who have a lot to do and a lot of enjoyment to be had.
